Which MamaCloth pads are right for me???

Selecting MamaCloth the right pads may seem overwhelming but I am here to make it simple!

I would first suggest you start  off by looking at what you currently use in disposable pads. What length of pads do you most often use? Don't forget to consider things like Panty Liners and Thong Liners as an option for lighter days or when using a Menstrual Cup or Organic Cotton Tampons. Heavy flow pads are also available to those looking for more protection for Post Partum or Overnights.

When selecting your pads for the first time. Take an assessment of your average cycle. Do you notice a pattern that may help you determine the type of pads you will use? Pay attention to the pads you use for one cycle. What lengths and styles do you normally use and how many? Some women use no panty liners at all while others tend to have a cycle that tapers off at the end and require some light day pads or liners for protection during those final days. We are all so different so it's important to take a good look at your cycle to assess your needs. Another option is to just try a few and build your stash slowly.  Many people choose this option if they find it's a bit expensive for them to purchase an entire stash at once.  This may require more washing but it is definitely do-able.

Another good thing to ask yourself is how often will you do laundry? Everyday? Every other day? Every third day???  If you are cloth diapering you can just throw your Mama Cloth in with your diapers. If you are diaper washing every day or every other day you may not need a big stash of Mama Cloth to start off with. However, it is always nice to have a few extras to keep in your purse or as a back up so keep that in mind. Mama Cloth Offers 3 types of pads….

1) Flannel/Hemp- Great for lighter spotting to Medium flow. See flannel diagram below for sizing options.

2) Organic Bamboo Velour/Hemp- Light to Heavy flow. These are our most popular pads and offer protection ranging from light to super heavy flow. See the Organic Velour diagram below for sizing options.

3) Pocket Pads- Pocket pads are our original style pad. These pads are a bit on the bulkier side but what makes them unique is that you can buy extra inserts and build them to the thickness you need for your flow. See the image below for examples on how to use this pad.

Cloth Pad Storage? MamaCloth has a few accessories available in our shop that makes traveling and storing Mama Cloth much easier and more discreet.  Wet Bags & Reusable Pad Wrappers are a great way to keep soiled or clean Mama Cloth until ready for washing. These bags have so many uses from cloth diapers to wet swimsuits! We love them in our household! Some options we carry are FOOD SAFE as well and can be used as snack bags! These bags are better than using hard containers for storage for MamaCloth because they are made from a waterproof/breathable fabric. If you store soiled items in hard containers with no air flow they could potentially grow mold and cause odours. Wet bags & Pad Wrappers can breathe which protects your pads from damage. All Wet Bags & Pad wrappers can be machine washed with your pads. Easy peasy!
